Hello Readers!
My name is Brian and I'm a 'graduate' of Cherry Hill Arundel Elementary School #164 from 1981. Last year I came back to Arundel (26 years later) to teach 4 students how to create their own websites using only HTML coding and Notepad. (To see the websites, click on any of the links below.) The average age of these four students was 12 years!

The beautiful thing about the project last year is that these students, from Cherry Hill, accomplished something that even a lot of high school students from Poly, City, Western, Gilman, Friends, Calvert Hall, etc. do not know how to do. These students are empowered with a 21st century skill that will pay dividends throughout their lives.
Starting June 2, I'm planning on coming back to Cherry Hill a second time, with the blessings of the principal at Arundel, to teach 10 more students how to do the same thing, but this time with MORE code, which means that the student's websites will look even MORE spectacular than the ones from last year!
Media coverage of the event last year was from the Afro American, Baltimore Times, and a brief segment from Channel 2 news. I'll be doing this event again during the week of June 2-6. Hopefully, we can have the same reception on Friday June 6 like we had last year. Over 30 parents, community leaders, and adminstrators were in attendance last year.
I'm currently getting notebooks made and materials necessary to make the learning process as painless as possible in order to make this event twice as big as the event from last year! I'm also planning on keeping a blog to keep track of the event.
This years event will hopefully become the second of many, many more youth web design summits in Cherry Hill.
